After the trip to Cagliari, Milan could have taken two huge steps forward in the standings given the “favourable” fixture list, but instead Massimiliano Allegri’s side struggled, adding only two points to the 38 they had already collected. What is more, both points came from comebacks, against teams clearly within reach, who nevertheless came close to winning the match themselves.
Regarding the delicate away game in Florence, La Repubblica headlined this morning: “Milan, slow progress in a comeback. Nkunku and the crossbar save them,” as Brescianini, by a matter of centimetres, came close to gifting Fiorentina their third league win of the season.
