Massimiliano Allegri, AC Milan’s coach, spoke at the press conference after Como-Milan.
Did you get a chance to speak with Fabregas after the match?
“We take this result because it was very important for us. We knew it would be difficult to play against Como. Maignan was excellent in keeping us in the game. The second half went much better, they dropped a bit as well. We had chances which, if we had taken them better, could have hurt them even more. On Sunday there’s Lecce, and we need to close this period in the best way possible.”
What about Mike Maignan? Allegri said:
“That’s the club’s decision. I’m very happy, I believe that to build great teams you need great players, like Mike.”
Will you focus more on those ahead or those behind in the table?
“Behind. Winning at Como was not easy, in fact, very difficult. So I’d say well done to the boys because in difficult moments we got a little stretched when we should have stayed more compact and conceded less.”
Why didn’t Pulisic play?
“He came off two very demanding matches. We needed physicality, so I preferred to play Ruben. Then Fullkrug came on, he had a strong second half and insisted on being involved.”
Tonight, Allegri’s DNA was visible, for example with Adrien Rabiot...
“He’s one of the best in Europe. Sometimes he makes me angry, but when he gets angry he plays on his own. But the whole team, Modric… they all put themselves at the service of the team. They’ve understood that to win matches everyone has to give themselves fully, which was a bit missing in the last two games.”
