The Italian newspaper Il Quotidiano Sportivo, on newsstands this morning, runs the headline:
"Milan–Maignan: full steam ahead on the renewal."
Negotiations for the contract extension of the French goalkeeper are progressing smoothly, and he is now increasingly close to staying. The financial agreement has already been reached, a deal until 2031 with the player able to earn up to seven million euros per season through bonuses. What remains is to find a final agreement on the commissions requested by his agent.
Meanwhile, Milan are also working to try to secure a forward for the future. For weeks now, the main target has been Andrej Kostic, a 2007-born striker from Partizan Belgrade, who is pushing for a move to the Rossoneri. There is still a gap between the two clubs, though: Milan have put around five million euros on the table, while the Serbian side are asking for 12 million euros.
