Finally, it’s happening: Mike Maignan will soon sign a contract extension until 2031. The final agreement between the parties has been reached, with only the last few details left to finalize before the official announcement. After an endless negotiation, which was frozen for several months, the Rossoneri and the French goalkeeper resumed talks and ultimately reached the understanding everyone had hoped for (not just the fans) but also Max Allegri and Maignan’s teammates.

New contract:
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports this morning the details of Maignan’s new deal: his salary will rise from the current 3.2 million to 5 million, plus guaranteed bonuses under the new agreement. The Frenchman will thus become one of the highest-paid players in Milan’s squad, alongside Rafael Leao. The club made a significant effort, but everyone at Via Aldo Rossi knew how important it was to keep the Milan captain: his often decisive performances this season, his role within the squad marked by the captain’s armband, the renewed connection with the Rossoneri world following Allegri’s arrival and his staff (especially goalkeeper coach Claudio Filippi), and his desire to stay all led the club to reward him with a major offer.
Max and the teammates' role in Maignan's stay:
Allegri is certainly one of the happiest with this outcome and was probably one of the most influential in convincing Maignan, who at one point didn’t want to talk to anyone. In recent weeks, both in interviews and on social media, several teammates, including Gabbia and his close friend Rabiot, worked to push him toward extending. In the end, an agreement was reached, the signature will come soon, and everyone can be very happy.
