According to what was learned by the editorial team at MilanNews.it, Gerry Cardinale, founder of RedBird and majority shareholder of Milan, went today to Milanello together with the entire Rossoneri management, made up of CEO Giorgio Furlani, RedBird’s Senior Advisor for AC Milan Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and sporting director Igli Tare, to meet the team and the coaching staff at the club’s training center, less than a month after the last official visit, which took place on January 21, 2026.
Cardinale watched part of the training session, also stopping for a conversation with Massimiliano Allegri and for a warm greeting to Mike Maignan, to whom he offered his personal congratulations on his contract renewal, expressing his happiness about the extension and about his role in the Milan dressing room. Before ending the visit, Cardinale joined the rest of the management for lunch at Milanello.
This was Cardinale’s first official visit as owner of Milan without the financial “support” of Elliott, which was bid farewell on January 30 with the official statement announcing the repayment of the approximately €550 million debt to the Singers and the arrival of the new investor and financier Comvest Credit Partners. Today’s presence of the owner is therefore a sign of continuity with the past and a concrete demonstration from Cardinale of his growing involvement in the club’s affairs, also through his physical closeness to the team.
