Serie A is preparing for what could become the key clash of the season: Milan vs Inter. After the 2021/22 campaign, the Milan derby will once again carry the flavor of a Scudetto showdown. The Nerazzurri have the chance to effectively close the title race, while the Rossoneri will try to keep everything open. Anticipation for the match is backed by the numbers. According to what Calcio e Finanza has learned, the game will once again be sold out at San Siro and will generate the second-highest gate revenue in Serie A history after the first derby between Inter and Milan earlier this season, reaching €8.7 million.
This will therefore not only surpass Milan’s own record but become the highest gate revenue ever recorded in the history of the league. Last November’s derby brought 75,562 spectators to the Meazza Stadium and generated more than €8.6 million. Just a few months later, Milan will claim the new record by surpassing €8.7 million, interrupting Inter’s dominance in this area. The stadium will of course be sold out, with 75,500 fans expected to attend the match.
Milan vs Inter revenue – The battle for the all-time Serie A record
Tomorrow night’s match will take first place in the rankings, albeit with only a small margin over the second. It moves ever closer to the €9 million mark, a figure that has never been reached. Second place, as mentioned, belongs to the derby played last November, while the podium is completed by Inter vs Juventus from last month. This means the top three has been completely reshaped during this season.
Fourth place goes to another Inter vs Milan match, played in September 2024 and won 2–1 by the Rossoneri thanks to Matteo Gabbia’s goal in the final minutes. The list is completed by another Derby d’Italia: Inter vs Juventus from last season, a match that ended in a spectacular 4–4 draw. Overall, all five of the top spots are occupied by matches played at San Siro. Inter appeared four times as the home team, while Milan did so once. These include three Milan derbies and two Inter vs Juventus clashes.
