The AC Milan forward Christian Pulisic decided the first leg of the derby with a true striker’s flash, taking advantage of a less than perfect save by Yann Sommer. From that match onward the American kept scoring, but over the past few months, more precisely since the start of 2026, he has gone through a delicate and worrying dip in form.
A series of physical setbacks has also played a part, as they have prevented him from truly being at 100 percent.
Even so, 'Il Corriere dello Sport' writes this morning that "Pulisic may be struggling, yet he remains a talisman." In the last three derbies he has scored twice, and on those occasions Milan also found the path to victory. The hope, of course, is that the American can repeat that again tonight, with the same outcome.
