For months there has been talk of a new Rafael Leão; more consistent, more mature, and more of a leader, but now he has gone back to being a problem case. And the exaggerated reaction he had on Sunday evening at the Olimpico has worsened the situation: no fine or official reprimand, but the scene was not appreciated at the club’s headquarters, where they are ready to listen to any offers that may arrive in the summer for the Portuguese player.
Will Milan listen to offers?
This is reported this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, which explains that the real question is who could afford a major deal for a player who today is not among the top in his position. Leão’s contract includes a €170 million release clause, but obviously Milan will also consider significantly lower offers, perhaps around €80 million, which could come from some Premier League club or from Saudi Arabia. Of course, any offer that arrives will have to satisfy not only the Rossoneri club, but also the Portuguese forward himself.
Nusa idea...
In the event of Leão’s departure, Milan would then have to return to the market to sign a suitable replacement. One name the club is keeping an eye on is Antonio Nusa, a 2005-born forward from Leipzig and Norway who caused major problems for Italy’s defense in the World Cup qualifying matches. The German club is currently fifth in the Bundesliga and therefore outside the Champions League places: if they fail to qualify for Europe’s top competition, it is not excluded that they could be convinced to sell their young talent, who is valued at €35 million.
