Maurizio Pistocchi, a journalist, was interviewed by Radio Tutto Napoli.
Among the chasing teams, Napoli and Milan, do you see either of them capable of winning all their remaining matches to take advantage?
“As I said a month and a half ago, Napoli will win them all. I said it when there were ten matches left, so I’m convinced Napoli will win them all. They’ve rediscovered their most important players, and this is the moment when the coach’s ability to get the best out of the squad, along with his winning mentality, can make the difference. Inter Milan is obviously still in a strong position: if you’re six points ahead of AC Milan and seven ahead of SSC Napoli, it means you would have to suffer a dramatic collapse, losing two of the eight matches remaining. It can happen."
"At the same time, I’d say that Milan, based on what we saw in the second half when they switched to a 4-3-3, was perhaps the best Milan of the season. However, they’ll have major regrets, because while it’s true they’ve picked up points against the big teams, they’ve dropped 17 points against smaller sides: Parma, Pisa, Genoa, Sassuolo. Perhaps it’s precisely against mid-to-lower-table teams that they show some tactical issues, whereas in big matches, when they can play on the counterattack, they perform at their best. It’s a team that defends deep and then tries two or three prepared solutions."
"Still, the best Milan I’ve seen was in the second half last Sunday with the 4-3-3: a more logical team, with three midfielders. It’s also the setup that would get the best out of Rafael Leão. His numbers are still good and significant: even though he sometimes drifts out of the game, he has natural qualities that allow him to decide matches, so he remains an important player.”
