Luca Bianchin, a journalist, expressed himself as follows in La Gazzetta dello Sport about Milan’s international players:
"One hundred thousand kilometers, like a used car. One hundred thousand kilometers, two and a half times the circumference of the Earth. The 13 Milan players called up to their national teams during the break will travel over 100,000 kilometers, and we are at record levels. There are no statistics on national team travel during breaks, but for a modern club it is very rare to have six players involved in matches overseas. At Milan, these are: Maignan, Rabiot, Saelemaekers, De Winter, Modrić, Pulisic."
"The travel issue is highly relevant because Napoli–Milan is the last train for the Scudetto: take it or leave it. Allegri would wholeheartedly avoid having tired players or, worse, players with physical problems. In the past, Milan fans do not forget, it has happened: during the October break, Saelemaekers, Rabiot, Estupiñán, Pulisic, and Nkunku got injured. This time the danger is called the World Cup: in view of the World Cup, many March friendlies are organized in the United States. And so, Rabiot and Maignan’s France will play between Boston and Washington, Saelemaekers and De Winter’s Belgium between Atlanta and Chicago, and Modrić’s Croatia in Orlando. Meanwhile, Pulisic’s United States will, of course, be… at home, in Atlanta.”
