After a long post-surgery recovery on his ankle at the end of December, Santiago Gimenez returned to the field during Milan-Torino. As reported by 'La Gazzetta dello Sport,' Allegri would be counting on his goals and has noticed an improved version of him: the ankle discomfort has gone, and the Milan coach is convinced that Gimenez’s physical training over the past months has allowed the Mexican to return with an even more defined muscular build.
In the league this season, he has not scored despite playing around 640 minutes. Last season, arriving in January and playing 670 minutes, he scored 5 goals in 14 league matches.
Milan and Massimiliano Allegri believe that the real Gimenez can shine again even in the Rossoneri shirt. The coach intends to make the most of him for the grand finale. To help the Mexican regain match rhythm, Allegri has arranged a training session against Milan Futuro, where Gimenez will start. This test is expected to take place today.
