Among the AC Milan players who have improved the most this year following the arrival of Max Allegri on the bench, Strahinja Pavlović certainly stands out. He explained to Tuttosport where he has developed the most under the Italian coach:
"In tactics, in knowing how to position myself on the pitch and understanding the correct distances we need to keep between each other in the defensive phase. They’re all small details, but they make a real difference, and he’s exceptional at teaching them. Are we conceding fewer goals this season? Compared to last year, our style of play has changed: now everyone takes care of the defensive phase, and likewise, everyone attacks as a unit."
Pavlovic then spoke about his relationship with Allegri, whom he hopes to continue working with next season:
"I get on very well with him, and I like the fact that he makes an effort to speak with everyone, you can see he knows how to build a group. Should he stay at Milan? Yes, he’s very, very important for us. We’ve all grown under him, and it was only the first year, with more time to work together, we’ll improve even further."
On Sunday, Juventus will arrive at San Siro, featuring his friend and international teammate Dušan Vlahović, who is also one of the players Milan are monitoring for their attack:
"We’re always in touch… Dušan is a great friend of mine, and we text or speak almost every day. He’s a great player and a great person. Before I came to Milan, I asked him what Italy was like, and I also had a few chats about it with Milenković and Terzić, there are many of my fellow countrymen playing here, and I really like that. Would someone like him be useful for Milan? That’s not a question for me… But I can say he’s a top player with huge quality: when he’s in form, he’s number one, the best striker in the league and one of the best in the world. Marking him in training wouldn’t be easy… I also faced him in the reverse fixture against Juventus when he came on for the final twenty minutes."
At Milan, Pavlović now has the chance to train alongside a legend like Luka Modrić:
"What do you learn from training with Modrić? Everything. He’s an example in everything he does, both in his private life and on the pitch."
After moving around Europe, Pavlović now wants to stay at Milan for a long time...
"I like Milan; the people, the fans, the fashion, and of course the food as well. And I hope to stay at Milan for many years."
