Live on Sky Sport from Milanello, Peppe Di Stefano spoke after today’s training session about the likely line-up that will take the field on Sunday afternoon in Reggio Emilia against Sassuolo. This is what he said:
“Second-to-last training session. Today Allegri did not test the Leão-Pulisic pairing, but rather Leão alongside Nkunku, with Pulisic on the bench. Last week he ended up making changes compared to what he had tried in training, so this doesn’t necessarily mean this will be the starting attack, but it is an indication, as Nkunku has looked decent in his recent appearances, while Pulisic hasn’t scored since 28 December. It’s not certain that Leão will play as the central striker; this could also be a way to have him drift wider so he can find more space, because he has more options when starting from the left. Jashari in place of Modrić in midfield, alongside Rabiot and Fofana. On the left, more likely Estupiñán than Bartesaghi, and at the back Tomori, Gabbia and Pavlović throughout. The new element could therefore be Nkunku, but we’ll see in tomorrow’s training session.”
