Igli Tare, the Rossoneri sporting director, spoke to DAZN before Milan vs Atalanta. His statements:
On the future of Luka Modrić and the midfield with Ardon Jashari and Samuele Ricci:
“His absence on the pitch is important for the team, but his presence is overwhelming: every day, from morning to evening, he stays with the squad. Even now in the dressing room he tries to motivate them; he is an important figure for this team. I am confident that Luka will continue his journey with Milan next season as well.”
On the fans’ protests:
“The fans have the right to express their opinion. The important thing is that we all stay united, especially at this moment. It is crucial to complete the path we started this season. We must try not to repeat the mistakes made in the past. A performance like the one against Sassuolo leaves you with a lot of regret. We are coming off a very difficult and emotionally intense week. We are all convinced that tonight the team will give an important response.”
How decisive is qualification for the Champions League for the future of the Allegri-Tare project?
“It is fundamental, but not for me, for the whole environment: the club, the fans, the history of this club. We have had an important season; in the last six weeks we stopped and slowed down, but our destiny is in our own hands. We have to give an important response. Participation in the Champions League is fundamental for this club, not only economically but also from a sporting point of view.”
