There is no peace at Milan, not even after the arrival of Massimiliano Allegri on the bench, who could leave the club after just one season. The ex Juventus coach, who had returned with great enthusiasm and a desire to make an impact, is exhausted and tired of dealing with more internal enemies than opponents on the pitch. For this reason, he is considering leaving at the end of the season, even if the Rossoneri were to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
This was reported this morning by Corriere della Sera, which explains that one of the reasons leading to this decision is the now non-existent relationship with Zlatan Ibrahimović, which exploded the day after the defeat suffered against Napoli at the beginning of April. A heated confrontation took place between the two, triggered by the choice of the third goalkeeper to include in next year’s squad: it was only a secondary pretext, but enough to spark a furious argument between them. Between Allegri and Ibra, harsh words were exchanged, and since that day the Swede has not been seen again at Milanello and only recently reappeared at San Siro.
But what are the real reasons that led to the break between Allegri and Ibrahimovic?
The coach, who had managed to reunite the dressing room after last season and had climbed to second place in the table, discovered that Zlatan has frequent meetings with Antonio Cassano, one of his main critics. In addition, the senior advisor of RedBird, after the recent downturn in form, began calling some players such as Fofana and Leão, giving them tactical advice. Max was also disappointed by the non-existent January transfer window, when he had asked for a couple of quality reinforcements to compete at the very top, but the club told him there were no resources to spend, so he had to settle for Füllkrug on loan. The strange thing is that 30 million euros then suddenly appeared for Mateta, negotiated directly by CEO Furlani without the sporting director Tare being aware. If, as it seems, Ibrahimović returns to centre stage at the Rossoneri, then there is no place at Milan for Allegri, who is beginning to seriously consider the possibility of taking over the Italy national team bench.
