Roma's coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, after the derby victory against S.S. Lazio, speaking about the UEFA Champions League qualification race, said the following:
"We still have ninety minutes left to play. It’s an extraordinary league season, with many teams separated by only a few points; everything is exciting. We’re happy because now it depends on us to achieve a target that we desperately want.”
"Let’s not get carried away by the enthusiasm now; there’s still the final step in this comeback run,” he added.
Gasperini concluded by talking about the simultaneous fixtures:
"We were hoping for someone to slip up, but we couldn’t know it in advance, and in the end it happened to Juventus FC, who were playing at home. We did well to focus only on our own match, against a strong S.S. Lazio side. The first half was difficult, but then we broke the deadlock and performed well.” ( as relayed via ANSA)
