Yesterday’s victory against Genoa CFC has restored a measure of calm at AC Milan, with the Rossoneri now seeing qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League within touching distance: "all that’s needed" are three points against Cagliari Calcio to guarantee participation in the 2026/27 edition of Europe’s top club competition.
Then it will be time for reflections and decisions about the future. Matteo Moretto, in a video published on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, gave an update on Massimiliano Allegri.
"Allegri has a contract with Milan; he signed a three-year deal a year ago on significant wages. If he secures Champions League qualification, then he will have achieved the club’s main objective for the season, so nothing can really be held against him in terms of results. What I can tell you is that it is unlikely Allegri will leave because Milan want him to. For both financial and sporting reasons, it is difficult to imagine Milan parting ways with Allegri. The key issue is understanding what Allegri himself wants to do. So I would shift the focus entirely onto the coach, who at the end of the season will make all his evaluations and honestly decide, also after several internal meetings, which path to take for his future and for the good of Milan."
