A Rossoneri collapse at San Siro, for the third consecutive time — and this time completely decisive. Milan are out of the Champions League and will have to settle for the Europa League, losing badly at home to already-safe Cagliari, 1–2. A truly disastrous outcome, which Sky Sport 24’s Milan correspondent Peppe Di Stefano described immediately afterwards from inside the stadium like this.
Peppe Di Stefano’s comment on Milan's loss vs Cagliari:
"It’s a disaster: financially and emotionally. The fans supported the team, but then everything collapsed. Perhaps the revolution will no longer be partial, but total. Absurdly, Milan were outside the Champions League places after the first matchday and on the final one: they spent 36 matchdays constantly in the Champions League zone, and this time the objective has slipped away. We’ll also see what Allegri will do after this collapse."
