Il Giornale headline in the newsstands this morning reads:
“Milan, World Cup chaos. Rangnick and Pochettino emerge, but they are tied up with the international tournament.”
The revolution wanted by Gerry Cardinale is continuing slowly and with no shortage of obstacles. After the rejections from Iraola and Xavi, one profile that is liked is Mauricio Pochettino, who however will be busy in the coming weeks at the World Cup with the United States national team, of which he is head coach. To lead the technical department, the leading name is Ralf Rangnick, Austria’s coach, who will also be taking part in the World Cup that begins on 11 June.
Meanwhile, yesterday saw comments from captain Mike Maignan, who via Instagram gave his view on Milan’s just-finished season, which ended with the Devil failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League: "Another year in which, unfortunately, our objectives were not achieved. Thank you to Milan fans for your support throughout the year. Joy and sadness are part of life for athletes and for the club’s supporters. Sooner or later, Milan will rise again."
