Rudi Garcia, the Belgium national team coach, gave a long interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he also spoke about players from his national team who play in Serie A, including AC Milan’s Alexis Saelemaekers and Koni De Winter, who are coming off the major disappointment of failing to qualify for the Champions League with Milan.
Here are his words:
"Is Saelemaekers less happy because he missed out on the Champions League with Milan? De Winter as well… But I know for certain that when the World Cup comes, certain memories fade and you only think about the national team. Alexis, for me, is a very valuable player because on the right flank he can play everywhere: like Florenzi in my Roma team. In France we would call him a Swiss army knife. I am also counting on De Ketelaere, who has scored less this year but has been more consistent in his performances.”
