The stalemate surrounding Ralf Rangnick continues, as he still does not seem to have decided whether to remain Austria’s head coach or become technical director at AC Milan. The president of the Austrian Football Association, Josef Pröll, spoke about his impressions to ORF, and his words are below.
"I am optimistic that he will choose Austria. We expect his decision in the coming days or week. We know we can rely on each other, because we discuss things in a very open and direct way, in a very positive atmosphere."
On AC Milan's interest in Rangnick:
"It is clear that financially we cannot compete with a major international club. For me the question is: what can we at the ÖFB offer so that he chooses to stay with us. And I believe that in this sense we have already done a lot. Now we are giving him time. I am in contact with him and I see it calmly. If he accepts, we will be very happy. If not, we will not part on bad terms."
