Now that Ruben Amorim has been announced as the new coach of AC Milan, and with the Krosche–Hardung duo arriving from Frankfurt to take charge of the club’s sporting department, the Rossoneri can finally begin to focus on the transfer market, which will open in less than two weeks, on 29 June. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ruben Amorim has already shared his ideas during various meetings held with the ownership and will soon also present them to the new directors.
AC Milan, Ramos, and Trincao for the attack?
If there is one position that AC Milan must strengthen, and would have needed reinforcing regardless of Amorim and the Champions League, it is that of the goalscoring centre-forward.
The lack of goals from Milan’s attacking players from March onwards was one of the main reasons behind the team’s failure. For this reason, the hottest name of all could be Gonçalo Ramos. Still young at 25, the Portuguese striker has been at PSG for three years, where he has won everything but has increasingly found himself out of the starting line-up.

This season he has scored 12 goals in over 40 appearances, despite limited minutes. He could decide to leave France in search of continuity and a more central role in a new project. At present, PSG value him at €40 million, and there are various possible formulas that could be used to bring him in. Francisco Trincão is also of interest, one of Amorim’s favourites from his Sporting days, ideally suited to play as one of the two attacking midfielders behind the striker. Other names being considered include Morten Hjulmand in midfield and Can Uzun, also for the attack.
Will Leao leave AC Milan?
While a Portuguese coach, Ruben Amorim, arrives at Milan and could bring another Portuguese player with him, Gonçalo Ramos, Rafael Leão could also leave Milanello. Although it is plausible that, in any case, the new coach will sit down with the Milan number 10 to understand his plans, it is difficult to imagine that the rift of recent weeks can be repaired. The Portuguese player has stated that he wants to try new experiences, and at the same time the atmosphere around him, both from the ownership and from the fans, is tense.
There is also a tactical issue: he does not seem suited to Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system. But he is not the only Milan player likely to depart. Luka Modrić, for very different reasons, will also most likely not return to Milanello. The willingness of the French players Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot still needs to be assessed. Fofana and Loftus-Cheek are also on the transfer list.
