The Italian newspaper 'Il Corriere dello Sport' ran the following headline about AC Milan's transfer market operations:
"The Portuguese spending spree. Amorim has already chosen the reinforcements: Hjulmand, Ramos and Gonçalves"
In fact, the new AC Milan coach Ruben Amorim has already begun making his first requests to the Milan board. The first three reinforcements he has asked for are two of his compatriots and one player who has already worked with him at Sporting Lisbon, namely the Portuguese forwards Gonçalo Ramos and Pedro Gonçalves and the midfielder Morten Hjulmand.
Amorim is meanwhile carefully assessing the players already in the Milan squad. The coach of the Rossoneri has, for example, asked for both Mike Maignan and Adrien Rabiot to stay, whose future at Milan has often been questioned in recent weeks. The Portuguese coach would also like to build again around Luka Modrić, who has not yet decided his future, although there is optimism within the club regarding his renewal.
