Matteo Moretto, speaking in a public video on Fabrizio Romano's YouTube channel, provided this update on Mattia Liberali's future and the rumours linking him with a return to AC Milan:
"Mattia Liberali left AC Milan because there were internal technical evaluations at the club that ultimately led to his departure. There were people within the club's structure who did not believe Liberali had the necessary potential. They did not see him as someone with first-team potential. Those individuals are still at AC Milan, so from that point of view, I would be surprised if Liberali were to return to the club."
"I would also add that, in terms of the transfer market, I strongly consider Como and Sassuolo to be the main contenders. Como are making progress, Cesc Fàbregas has personally called the player, and he is someone the club wants to try to sign as quickly as possible. On the other hand, there is Sassuolo, where Alberto Aquilani knows Liberali very well because they worked together at Catanzaro. As things stand today, these are the two clubs I consider to be leading the race."
"Let's also remember that there is a €6 million release clause, and AC Milan will be entitled to 50% of any future resale fee. At the moment, however, the clubs showing the strongest interest in Liberali are Como and Sassuolo."
"Not everyone inside AC Milan was convinced about Liberali, and that's why he left. It's true that the head coach has changed and some members of the club's management have also changed, but certain difficulties remain. This week will be important for Mattia Liberali's future."
