AC Milan have approached the transfer market with an aggressive mindset, something not seen during Gerry Cardinale's ownership. In the space of just a few days, the Rossoneri completed deals for two players considered top priorities: Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos and Spanish defender Mario Gila. Now, however, in order to finance further signings and recoup part of the money already invested, Milan need to start selling players. And they need to do it extensively and effectively.
Milan focus on sales:
With pre-season training now under way and preparations for the new campaign officially started, Milan can (and must) shift their attention to outgoing transfers. La Gazzetta dello Sport summarised the club's situation in an article centred on Pervis Estupiñán. The headline reads:
"Estupiñán on his way: now it's time to sell. Target set at €150 million in total."
The subheading adds: "The full-back is heading to Aston Villa. On the market are Leão and Giménez among the star names, as well as Tomori and Loftus-Cheek." Based on estimated valuations for each player, the potential transfer income comes to close to €150 million in total.
