Peppe Di Stefano, a Sky Sport journalist, spoke to Radio Rossonera about AC Milan's transfer market and the club's next moves:
"I believe these things have to happen in parallel. I don't think Milan will have – or want to have – another €100 million to invest in the transfer market without expecting a return. I also think it's only right that Milan sell players. A team is shaped by the atmosphere in the dressing room, and if you keep players like Tomori – whom I personally rate highly – despite having decided that he is no longer part of the project, not playing regularly and lacking continuity, then there's a risk."
On Milan's latest overhaul
"I believe," Di Stefano explained about the new-look Milan, "that in situations like this you have to hit the reset button. You've already carried out a revolution at boardroom level and in the technical setup. In my view, that same overhaul now has to happen on the pitch as well, and as quickly as possible."
"Selling players will be crucial, and it won't be easy. Last year, Igli Tare did an excellent job, and many people underestimated what he achieved. I'm not changing my opinion of Tare because of the last match. Selling all the players he moved on for those fees was an extremely difficult task – perhaps even a remarkable achievement."
"Selling players is never straightforward, especially when you're AC Milan and other clubs know those players are surplus to requirements. It's difficult to find deals that make sense financially, while also being beneficial from both a sporting and tactical perspective."
