The race for Konstantinos Karetsas, who is being closely monitored by Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan, could become very intense in the coming days.
Borussia want to accelerate for Karetsas
According to Sky Germany, Borussia Dortmund are serious about signing the Greek talent and are planning a trip to Genk this week to negotiate in person with sporting director Dimitri De Condé and try to complete the deal before leaving for their pre-season tour in Japan.
In recent days, the German club submitted an offer slightly below €30 million, but the Belgian side continue to demand €35 million guaranteed, with the total package reaching €40 million including bonuses.
The player’s preference and Milan’s interest
Sky Germany also revealed another important detail: the player and his representatives have not only opened the door to a transfer, but they actually prefer Borussia Dortmund over the other interested clubs, with whom they already have a preliminary agreement.
Milan, on the other hand, remain interested and are monitoring the situation, but before making a move for Karetsas they need to sell Rafael Leão. At the moment, however, there are no concrete offers for the Portuguese forward.
