On Fabrizio Romano's YouTube channel, Matteo Moretto spoke about the negotiations between AC Milan and Fenerbahçe for Rafael Leão.
These were his words:
"As for the interest from the two Turkish clubs, Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, we've been talking about it for several weeks. We've always said that the only two genuine clubs that wanted, and still want, Rafa Leão are Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe. Now Fenerbahçe are trying to speed things up because a club representative has arrived in Milan to negotiate directly with AC Milan. So, in the coming hours, there will be a face-to-face meeting between the Turkish club and Milan.
Fenerbahçe, I'm told, want to sign Leão on a permanent transfer. That is their intention and their objective. However, there are still several uncertainties to resolve. First of all, we need to see what kind of offer they will make to Milan. I'm told, though, that the figure certainly won't be low. Fenerbahçe are approaching these talks with every intention of getting close to Milan's asking price.
Milan are asking for around €60 million. At the moment, they are not particularly flexible regarding Leão. They are demanding a high fee and do not want to lower it.
Then we'll have to see exactly how much Fenerbahçe are prepared to offer the player in terms of salary, because, as things stand today, Leão continues to prioritise projects at a certain level. However, on paper, those opportunities are not there at the moment. So we still have to see how the situation develops, but Fenerbahçe are pushing hard to sign Leão."
