There are less than two weeks to go until Milan’s first competitive match of the season. On Sunday 23 August at 8:45 PM CEST, the Rossoneri will face Ignazio Abate’s Torino away from home. It will already be a difficult match in its own right, while also carrying the usual unpredictability that comes with the opening games of a league campaign.
Another question mark concerns the squad available to Ruben Amorim, with players fit and available, those recovering from injuries, and those on their way out who will necessarily have to be kept on the sidelines or in the stands. For Amorim, the priority will be to recover two important players.
At the moment, in addition to Santiago Gimenez, who is unlikely to be available given the latest developments in negotiations with Porto, Milan’s injured players include Mario Gila and Christian Pulisic. On paper, both are key players, although neither has really featured much so far.
The two are working hard at Milanello to regain their best condition and be available against Torino. The Spaniard could even return to group training tomorrow and make an appearance in the friendly against Manchester United.
