The Milan’s final summer friendly is coming up, after which things will get seriously intense. Tomorrow afternoon, the Rossoneri will face Manchester United in Wroclaw, Poland. For Amorim, who will come up against his recent former club after a decidedly bitter departure, this is a key test. Against the Red Devils, we should begin to see the Milan side that will take the field against Torino on Sunday, 23 August, on the opening matchday of the 2026/27 Serie A season.
Leao and Gabbia will both be unavailable, joining the already injured Pulisic and Santi Gimenez on the sidelines. Also absent are Odogu, Tomori, Fofana and Nkunku, but their absence is down to technical and transfer-market decisions, as they are no longer part of the Rossoneri’s plans.
Youngster Torriani will start in goal, with Maignan still on holiday. In defence, Terracciano, De Winter and Pavlovic are expected to play. There is some doubt over whether Gila could start, but the Spaniard should come on during the match to get some minutes under his belt.
The four-man midfield is probably the area where there is the most uncertainty. Modric is the only certain starter and will be partnered by one of Jashari, Musah or Ricci. On the flanks, there are two battles for a starting spot: Saelemaekers and Chukwueze on the right, and Estupinan and Bartesaghi on the left.
The only two available attacking midfielders are Loftus-Cheek and Cissè, so both are expected to start. Up front, Gonçalo Ramos will finally make his first start.
AC Milan's possible formation (3-4-2-1):
Torriani; Terracciano, De Winter, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Modric, Jashari, Bartesaghi; Loftus-Cheek, Cissè; Gonçalo Ramos.
