Amorim’s Milan finally picked up the pace in the last pre-season friendly against Manchester United as they won 4-2. Modric and his teammates were inspired by an outstanding Goncalo Ramos, who scored one goal and provided two assists.
Manchester United-Milan: first half
A shocking start for the Rossoneri, who were caught out after just two minutes by Maguire. Bruno Fernandes delivered the corner and the English defender rose above Pavlovic to head home, escaping Musah’s marking. Milan then grew into the game under Amorim and found the equaliser in the 38th minute through Chukwueze. Jashari made yet another high recovery before Goncalo Ramos picked out the Nigerian inside the box, leaving him with a simple finish into an empty net. In the 41st minute, Torriani came to the fore, saving a penalty taken by Bruno Fernandes after a questionable decision by Marciniak.
Manchester United-Milan: second half
The second half began much like the first for the Rossoneri. Dorgu capitalised on a gross error from Terracciano, who attempted an overly weak backpass and gifted the Red Devils' No. 13 the opportunity to beat Torriani in the 51st minute. Milan's response was immediate, and Cissè restored parity in the 57th minute. Chukwueze attempted a curling effort, with the No. 70 following up at the far post to put the ball into the net. In the 68th minute, Amorim’s Milan completed the comeback as Goncalo Ramos headed home a perfect cross from Chukwueze. Then, in the 71st minute, Loftus-Cheek completed the rout: he played a one-two with Goncalo Ramos in midfield before racing forward and beating Lammens.
