Milan have rejected Porto’s first offer for Santi Gimenez, asking for a higher fee. Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto have provided further details, revealing the figures involved in the Portuguese club’s proposal.
Matteo Moretto: "The other clubs know that there are players who are on their way out of Milan, because the names are the ones we have already mentioned, and the tendency at the moment is to reach an agreement that is more favourable to the party that is not the Rossoneri. Fofana, for example, has many clubs interested in him, and there are players who have several offers on the table from interesting clubs. We need to see which club will make the best financial offer to Milan."
Fabrizio Romano had this to say regarding Santiago Gimenez's situation:
"Porto’s first written offer for Gimenez has arrived, and as far as we understand, it is a free loan with the player’s wages covered, but with an option to buy that could become an obligation, based on Santi Gimenez’s minutes played and goals scored. The proposed valuation is very different from the figure Milan are looking for: €15 million. That was the obligation proposed by Porto, linked to goals and playing time. Milan said no, and we will see how the negotiations continue. However, this was the proposal presented by Porto, and there is still a gap between the two clubs.”
