AC Milan have spent over €150 million on three high-quality players during this summer transfer window: Gonçalo Ramos in attack, Mario Gila in defence and Diego Moreira for the flanks. These are very good-quality reinforcements and represent a clear change in approach compared with previous transfer windows, when the preference was to spend the same amount of money on players costing a maximum of €20–25 million who, however, never really made the difference. Gerry Cardinale’s strategy has been as follows: spend everything on incoming transfers, regardless of sales. As of today, the Rossoneri have invested over €150 million without bringing in any transfer revenue and risk receiving little or nothing after leaving Nkunku, Tomori, Fofana and others out of the project.

By the way, for AC Milan supporters and those interested in wider sports betting market, the 1xbet promocode offers another option to explore alongside the latest transfer developments.

AC Milan's third major signing

Moreira arrives in Milan today and represents a significant upgrade on the flanks. He can play on the right, in place of Chukwueze and Saelemaekers, or on the left, in place of Estupiñán and Bartesaghi. Athletically strong, he is a physical and energetic player, but he is also good at controlling the ball and dribbling. Over two seasons, Moreira was directly involved in 19 goals for Strasbourg and is considered one of the most promising wide players in Europe. Indeed, by investing such a high fee, Milan have shown that they are serious about putting their faith in him.

Amorim is delighted. He remained in contact with Gerry Cardinale throughout, and the acceleration came after last Thursday’s summit at Milanello. But is the incoming transfer market now over? Not quite. The first step will be to try to sell some players, both because it is not ideal to have players isolated from the rest of the squad and also to try to recoup some money after such significant investments. Then, the aim will be to trim the squad in certain areas and move on players who are not considered useful to Amorim’s style of play.

AC Milan's other operations

Ricci, for example, is liked by Como, but a permanent offer is required. Juventus have made enquiries about Fofana and Tomori, while Cissé’s sale is currently on hold because the player has convinced the Portuguese coach, says Antonio Vitiello. Leao remains on Galatasaray’s radar, while Santiago Gimenez is one step away from joining Porto on loan. If the Mexican were to leave, Milan would be left with only Ramos and Camarda in attack, which could perhaps be a risk considering the number of matches next season.

In terms of incoming transfers, to further strengthen the squad, Milan would need another centre-back and a creative attacking midfielder. With these two additions, the Rossoneri would be stronger and more competitive. The final assessment will come in two weeks. But, the squad still needs to be adjusted, and Milan remain on the lookout for further reinforcements.
