As reported by MilanNews.it, the Rossoneri club owner Gerry Cardinale has just arrived at the Carnago Training Centre by car this time, given the truly challenging weather conditions caused by the heavy rain in recent hours. On today’s agenda are meetings with head coach Ruben Amorim and the club’s management, with Rossoneri chief scout Bobby Gardiner having arrived at 9am, as well as face-to-face meetings with several players.
Among them will be Rafael Leao, with whom the club needs to address the possibility of a transfer, and captain Mike Maignan, who will represent the squad. There will also be discussions with all the key players in the squad, as well as those who are set to leave, including players considered surplus to requirements, as the new season gets underway.
Milan transfer market: the strategy
Cardinale’s intention with today’s visit is, in fact, to ratify the analyses and assessments made over the past few days and set the wheels in motion for the final two weeks of the transfer window.
After around €150 million already being spent on incoming transfers, the ownership will certainly remain cautious regarding further signings, particularly because there is still work to be done to complete Amorim’s plan. The club is therefore considering and assessing its next steps and, if necessary, which targets to pursue.
A centre-back and an attacking midfielder, for example, are potential positions to strengthen, especially given the large number of departures that will need to be completed, one way or another.
