On the pages of Il Giornale, Franco Ordine commented on Milan’s performance against Torino as follows:
“The ambitious project spearheaded by Amorim promises interesting developments, but in the meantime, the footballing structure being built at Milanello still needs to be completed. Any reference to strengthening the defensive ranks is deliberate, especially after the struggles shown in the final 15 minutes against Torino, which brought back memories of the end of last season.
"This is the outcome of the first test, which was convincing for two-thirds of the match: this means the club still needs to fully integrate the players returning from the World Cup (Moreira and Pulisic, following Modric and Rabiot, who were already decisive protagonists), but above all, it needs to better define the pecking order in certain key positions and conclude the deals for the departures of players who have been left out of the project (Nkunku is one step away from signing, while Gimenez and Tomori will follow, with Fofana heading towards England).”
