On the sidelines of the presentation of the 34th edition of the Isokinetic Congress at Allianz MiCo - Milano Congressi, Francesco Camarda also spoke, with the young Rossoneri striker joining via video link directly from Milanello. These are his statements, as reported by Milannews.it:
Last season, you suffered a serious shoulder injury. What did you take away from the experience of going through rehabilitation?
"It was a difficult experience. The first image I have of the operation is of when I looked at myself in the mirror for the first time after surgery. I had lost a lot of weight and was very weak. Seeing myself in that condition initially left me very disappointed, but it also gave me great motivation to work hard and remain positive throughout the rehabilitation process."
And how did rehabilitation help you?
“It was a long and gradual process. It started with something as simple as straightening my arm. Actually, even before that, it was about removing the brace. Right after the operation, that seemed like an impossible goal to reach. The rehabilitation consisted of a series of milestones that I gradually achieved over time. Every time I reached one, there was a lot of happiness, both personally and, above all, together with the Isokinetic staff. They were always very supportive and we built a great relationship. I still keep in touch with them today.”
Can you share a positive memory that encouraged you and could also encourage others going through rehabilitation?
“As I said, it was a continuous source of encouragement. Rehabilitation is made up of several stages. You start by taking off the brace, then you straighten your arm, then you bend your elbow a little, and later you start moving your shoulders... I think the biggest satisfaction came a month after the operation, when I took off the brace. It was a moment of freedom.”
