The name of Markus Krösche could soon be back in the spotlight at Casa Milan. Milan owner Gerry Cardinale is working to improve the structure of the club and wants to give the Rossoneri a world-class sporting organisation. Following the summer revolution, it is no secret that there is currently no Head of Football in the club’s structure, and Krösche’s name has once again been linked with Milan in recent days. Krösche, of course, already came close to joining the Italians during the summer. Milan spent several weeks working on a deal to bring the German to Casa Milan, but just when an agreement appeared close, the move suddenly collapsed after Eintracht Frankfurt opposed the departure of their executive. The German club were reportedly unhappy with Milan’s approach, as the Rossoneri had not asked Eintracht for permission to negotiate with Krösche. It is worth remembering that Krösche would also have brought his right-hand man, Timmo Hardung, to Milan as sporting director. Hardung is also still under contract with the Frankfurt club.
Milan waiting for Krosche's exit from Eintracht Frankfurt?
After the transfer window closed, there was persistent speculation in Germany about Krösche potentially leaving Eintracht. It was reported that his contract, which runs until 2028, contained a clause allowing him to leave at the end of the 2026 summer transfer window. On September 3, Eintracht’s supervisory board met to take stock of the club’s sporting and financial situation, and it was thought that this could be the moment for Krösche to depart. That, however, did not happen.
The German executive remains in his position for now, but the rumours linking him with Milan have not gone away. Who knows, there could even be some concrete developments in the coming weeks.
