Talks were opened, then interrupted, and have now resumed. After months of doubts and rumours, Christian Pulisic provided important updates on his future this afternoon: he is happy at Milan, intends to stay, and talks over a contract renewal are underway.
Christian Pulisic's words
When asked by a colleague about his future, the No. 11 was quite categorical: his intention is to continue with the Rossoneri. Here are his comments.
“I can only say that I’m very happy in Milan and at Milan, right now and for the foreseeable future. I’m not thinking about the renewal at the moment, but I’m very happy here and I want to continue here. Are we talking about it? Yes.”
The No. 11's start to the season
The start of the current season has almost certainly been the most difficult period for the 1998-born player since he joined the Rossoneri three summers ago.
In the second half of last year, specifically from December 2025, he had failed to score and returned from the World Cup with an injury that subsequently prevented him from completing much of pre-season.
Amid this, there was some discontent among the fans, who, alongside his poor performances, were hearing that the player had stopped renewal talks some time ago and was looking around after the disastrous end to last season.
He then spent the first few games under Ruben Amorim on the bench, but eventually returned: coming on and providing an assist against Lazio, before scoring a wonderful goal as a starter against Lecce.
Christian Pulisic: a renewal to change the narrative?
With renewal talks seemingly back underway, Pulisic can definitively become the face of Milan following Rafael Leao's departure, as pointed out via Milan Press.
That has always been the intention of the club and Gerry Cardinale, and now he too seems to have emerged from the shadow of uncertainty, perhaps his biggest limitation in recent seasons.
Being the face of Milan, as demonstrated by the treatment Rafa Leao still receives from some people today, is certainly more complicated to manage than being a prominent supporting figure. But for Pulisic, the time has come to take that step and fully establish himself.
