Milan are still looking to provide Ruben Amorim with another defensive reinforcement. The final stages of the summer transfer window failed to produce the long-awaited addition, despite persistent rumours linking the Rossoneri with players such as Sporting Lisbon's Gonçalo Inácio and Milan's Tiago Gabriel. However, there is a feeling that the club will make fresh attempts in January, despite already having De Winter, Gabbia, Pavlovic and Gila in the squad, as well as the last-minute reintegration of Tomori.
Another name from the Portuguese agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents Inácio and Gabriel, is French defender Leny Yoro. The centre-back, born in 2005, currently plays for Manchester United, who signed him from Lille for €62 million in 2024. He is appreciated by Amorim, having already worked with the Portuguese coach at Old Trafford.
How much is Yoro's value?
Yoro is reportedly valued at €50 million. That is a very high figure, but Gerry Cardinale has shown, with the signings of Gonçalo Ramos from PSG for €75 million and Diego Moreira from Strasbourg for €65 million including bonuses, that he is prepared to spend such sums on players deemed worthy of that level of investment.
Why would Manchester United let Yoro leave?
The answer is quite simple. Firstly, despite having had two full seasons at his disposal, he has failed to resolve Manchester United's defensive problems, much like Matthijs de Ligt before him. Secondly, so far this season he has made just two Premier League appearances, one Champions League appearance and one Carabao Cup appearance, for four appearances in total. He has remained on the bench for United's other three league matches and has not started any game outside the cup competitions, writes Calcio Mercato.
For this reason, Mendes, his agent, could push for a transfer during the next window.
