Tuttosport leads its print edition this morning with the headline:
“Gabbia blow. Milan step up pursuit of Inacio”.

Following his injury against Sassuolo on Sunday, there was considerable concern at Milan over Matteo Gabbia’s condition. Unfortunately, tests carried out yesterday confirmed that the injury is significant: the defender has suffered a muscle tear in the flexor muscle of his left thigh, with partial tendon involvement.
The player will now see a specialist, who will determine whether surgery is necessary or whether he can be treated conservatively. In any case, his recovery is expected to take quite some time, and Gabbia will not return to action until 2027.
If signing another defender was already a necessity, it has now become an absolute priority for the Rossoneri ahead of January. Milan have never given up on Gonçalo Inácio, the Sporting CP centre-back. Having tried to sign him in the summer, the Rossoneri are ready to make another attempt during the winter transfer window.
