Gonçalo Ramos, the AC Milan's centre-forward, who scored a penalty and missed another in the 3-2 victory against Atalanta at the San Siro stadium, spoke to the media in a press conference after the final whistle.
What happened with the penalty?
"On the first penalty, I stop and look at the goalkeeper. Then, on the second one, I wanted to change because I thought he would wait for me to stop. He didn't do that, so hats off to him," as relayed via Milan News.
What happened at the end of the match?
"I think we suffered a little towards the end of the match, but the most important thing is that we won. Here, we want to build a winning team, and a winning team sometimes needs to suffer in order to win. The positive thing about today is that we suffered, we defended, but we brought home the victory."
You are praised for the kilometres you cover, but less so for your presence in the penalty area... Ramos replied:
"As a team, we are putting more players into the penalty area, and I think that was visible in the last two matches. The coach also asked me to stay more in the box and not leave my area. Today, I spent more time in the box, or at least I tried to, and in the next matches we will try to bring more players into the attacking area: me, Camarda, or whoever else plays, we will stay more in the box."
