Following yesterday’s statement, a meeting of the members was held today at Eintracht to ratify Markus Krösche’s decision to step down, meaning he will no longer be the club’s sporting director. Journalist Christopher Michel describes a calm but emotional atmosphere, with Krösche warmly saying goodbye to everyone. President Mathias Beck, who was also on stage, greeted and thanked Krösche to applause from everyone in attendance.
Markus Krösche struggled to hold back his tears during his farewell speech, Michel reports. He chose strong and emotional words: "Today, all I can say is thank you for five highly successful and extremely emotional years. You have shown me what it means to be a club with tradition and what can be achieved with Eintracht Frankfurt. I deliberately wore this jacket (with the club crest, ed.). In recent years, I have been an ‘Eintrachtler’, and I will always remain one of you."
Meanwhile, AC Milan are once again working on bringing Markus Krösche in as the club’s new Head of Football. His move to Casa Milan came very close in the summer, but fell through both because of the timing, with the transfer window underway, and because of a hefty penalty the executive would have had to pay, which expired in September. Gerry Cardinale wants to bring the German, now former Eintracht Frankfurt executive, to Casa Milan. Carlo Pellegatti discussed the matter in his latest video published on his YouTube channel.
"Krösche is obviously talking to Milan and is flattered, but be careful, because nothing has been finalised yet. He is also somewhat tempted by a possible move to Bayern Munich, where there is a Head of Football who seems to be somewhat on shaky ground, somewhat unsteady. This news is coming from Germany, so pay attention to Krösche’s thinking on this. However, there is a positive feeling about a deal being concluded in favour of Milan and Krösche, but there are still some obstacles, whether small or large."
