In recent hours, the decision by Eintracht Frankfurt’s supervisory board to unanimously accept Markus Krösche’s request to be relieved of his duties as sporting director with immediate effect has caused quite a stir in Germany.
As soon as the German club’s official statement was released, rumours immediately began circulating about a renewed interest from Milan, who had already tried to bring him to the Rossoneri in the summer. The Gerry Cardinale-owned club had put forward around €40 million for a four-year contract, but the deal did not materialise because Eintracht, rather annoyed, did not give its approval.
Negotiations between the German executive and the Devil are once again at an advanced stage and, according to Kicker, a definitive agreement is expected by the end of this week, as relayed via Milan News. The newspaper then adds on its website: "Eintracht Frankfurt would also be ‘happy’ for a specific reason. Krösche’s contract, renewed in 2024 until 30 June 2028, is still valid. This means that Eintracht can still receive compensation for Krösche’s departure if he reaches an agreement with another club during this period."
