An unusual Tuesday: two days before the European match, Amorim chose to give the team a day off. Nothing improvised, nor was it a decision dictated by fatigue in recent days: the schedule was already known at the beginning of the week. It will continue with training this morning and departure for Bournemouth in the afternoon. There, the coach and Loftus-Cheek will present tomorrow's match.
Amorim will once again implement the cup rotation policy: it had not worked against Benfica, but it had produced excellent results in Salzburg.
Changes in Milan's Defence and Midfield
Certainly, rotations are a necessity: in defence, with Terracciano suspended and Gabbia injured, the only alternatives are Tomori and Diawara. The latter made his debut right at the end of the last international match: in all likelihood, Fikayo could replace one of the centre-backs or Gila on the right flank.
At left-back, if the formation is 4-3-3, Bartesaghi could feature, another young cup player like Cisse. In midfield, Modric could be rested, with Jashari replacing him in the playmaking role. Loftus will play, while Rabiot could be required to put in extra work to complete the midfield three.
Amorim's Attacking Choices:
In attack, Ramos will not give up his starting shirt, as was the case at Salzburg's stadium, where he also scored after coming on as a substitute. If the rotation with Camarda is repeated, it will see the Portuguese player start from the beginning, writes La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition.
Supporting him will be Cisse and one of Hutchinson or Chukwueze (the former is the favourite) on the opposite flank. Moreira, Pulisic and Musah would be rested.
