Gonçalo Ramos decided to leave PSG this summer, where he had an almost mathematical certainty of winning trophies every year, to join Milan, where he was promised a leading role and often a starting place. Promises that, for the moment, apart from a couple of Europa League matches, have largely been kept in terms of playing time.
The Rossoneri striker was interviewed during the “Soltinhos pelo mundo” programme on the Portuguese broadcaster Canal 11, and spoke about his new experience at Milan.
Here are Gonçalo Ramos' comments on his new life in the Milan shirt:
"My life is happy, in a peaceful atmosphere. I play more, at a club that gives me more room to express myself. We like to play. I play more for the national team, which is equally important and provides a different showcase. It is a source of pride. During the World Cup, I was in contact with Jorge Mendes, and Milan’s interest emerged. The coach, Ruben Amorim, arrived at Milan and called me. One morning, Jorge Mendes phoned me and told me that the deal was done."

Gonçalo Ramos' revelations about his PSG departure:
"I wanted to leave PSG, but in January it is always more complicated. It was not the best option, even though I wanted to leave in January. Now I understand better. PSG immediately said no; they would have had to look for someone else. But Luis Campos assured me that he would let me leave this summer.
It was difficult for me to leave PSG because the group was truly fantastic. There were the three Portuguese players with whom I spent all my time. They knew I wanted to leave and, as a joke, they told me to stay just for the atmosphere. We experienced so many truly exceptional moments in this life that is ours.”
