Italian journalist and AC Milan fan, Carlo Pellegati, discussed the possible moves for the Rossoneri in the January transfer market:
"The Milan needs to strengthen the midfield", he said on his YouTube channel. "The first names are already being mentioned. The first is Casadei, who has the advantage of being Italian. However, he doesn’t seem to have the characteristics Milan is looking for: they are looking for a backup for Fofana, a more defensive midfielder."
Milan's interest on Morten Frendrup:
"There’s been talk of Frendrup from Genoa, who is doing well there. But I fear the cost, which is quite high (20-25 million). I’ve inquired, and I’ve been told that at the moment it’s a no. We’ve read about Cardoso and other names."
Pellegatti continued:
"The important thing is that Milan finds a midfielder while waiting for Bennacer: currently, the Rossoneri don’t have much depth in midfield. With foreign names, there’s always the problem of squad lists, unless Ismael is excluded."
