During his usual editorial for TMW, journalist Luca Marchetti discussed some of the hottest topics in Serie A, focusing on AC Milan and the difficult period that Rafael Leao seems to be going through:
"Milan's victory, in the way it came about, prompts many considerations within the Rossoneri world. It was certainly coincidental that as soon as Leao left the field, Milan managed to take control of the game. It was coincidental because it all happened so quickly, and because it was a play similar to one Leao had attempted earlier in the 60 minutes he was given. It wasn’t coincidental, though, that Okafor succeeded where Leao didn’t."
Marchetti continued to talk about Milan:
"Okafor also succeeded against Udinese. And then Chuckwueze pulled off a similar move on the other side of the field. Perhaps it was destiny more than coincidence. Celebrating while Leao was returning to the bench, celebrating without him under the curva, winning two games, one with a free kick in progress, the other with a fresh substitution. Leao’s frustration is understandable, but the direction Fonseca is taking is clear: a different attitude is needed because talent alone is not enough. Or at least, it’s no longer enough. Fonseca took a risk: with half an hour left, he pulled Leao off the field when he wasn’t playing badly (nor particularly well, to be honest), in a game where Milan was struggling to break through and needed a moment of brilliance. Others managed to do what he initially asked of Leao, and this certainly gives him strength in handling this 'detail.'"
