Coming on at the start of the second half for the lifeless Noah Okafor, he made the decisive play that turned around a match Milan had complicated for themselves.
Milan, never again without Rafael Leao.
Especially because, in this team, his replacement is Noah Okafor, and not Cristiano Ronaldo. The Swiss forward, in fact, was substituted yesterday after an invisible first half.
It’s no coincidence that it was Leao who, deep into the second half, solved the Slovakian puzzle with a sprinter’s burst following Fofana’s assist. Slovan Bratislava’s defence, utterly inadequate for the Champions League, did the rest: Kashia kept the Portuguese star onside by several meters on his teammate’s through ball, and two minutes later, Strelec added to the disaster with a disastrous back pass, gifting Tammy Abraham the ball to score the third goal.
After all, it didn’t take a Nostradamus to predict that Milan’s European outing would be a walk in the park: Slovan, who have lost all their matches in Europe, had already been crushed at home by Manchester City (4-0, which is understandable) and even Dinamo Zagreb (4-1).
The real story from yesterday’s game, however, was that the match remained relatively balanced until midway through the second half.
