Franco Ordine, in an article for Corriere dello Sport, addresses the topic of Theo Hernandez's future at Milan.
"At the presentation of Fonseca, Ibrahimovic didn’t hesitate. 'He and Maignan are staying,' he assured. They were the two most talked-about players by websites and agents for an unlikely transfer. Maignan quickly left the headlines, while Theo responded from France's European camp with 'we’ll see,' as if to signal that he would listen to offers. Here's the first point: none came. And of the interest from Bayern Munich hyped by the media, there was no trace."

Ordine said the following about Theo's condition:
"Upon returning to Milanello, he had a disastrous impact. Lack of fitness, it was said. True. But Theo, with a lack of energy, continued for the rest of the following months with a few exceptions (Madrid against Real) and one rule (like the missed penalty in Florence, the duels lost to Zappa, the protagonist of the stunning comeback). Hence the decision to exclude him from the lineup against Genoa and leave him on the bench in favor of Jimenez (born in 2005). This week, as reported from within Milanello, Theo has shown great motivation during training."
He continued to talk about the Milan star:
"The Rossoneri club, in these hours, with 8 key players absent, needs Theo, even a Theo at half service. But the question is different. Can a Theo like this, at reduced capacity, still serve Milan? The answer can only come from Theo himself. If he really wants to stay at Milan, he needs to return to being the overwhelming and unmatched Theo of his best days. They say he misses Paolo Maldini. That wouldn’t be reassuring for him. It would mean that without his former director, he’s no longer able to play football."
