Marco Borriello, former striker for Milan, Roma, and Juventus, revealed some insights into his private life and current football in an interview with Il Messaggero.
Here are his words:
"These days, I see people and do things in life. I'm not tied to anyone. I seek out business opportunities. An example? I recommended Zaniolo to Atalanta, to Gasperini. The story of 'La Dea' is a wonderful one."

Boriello added:
"I'm not an agent, nor do I even like the idea of being one. I lend a hand. I try to bring my experiences, even in Ibiza. Milan under Fonseca? They have great players, but I don't think they are well-balanced; they’re not a team. They lack the soul that Napoli has. The Azzurri, Atalanta, Inter, and even Juventus are ahead of the Rossoneri."
He then spoke about the level of strikers in Italy compared to his era, Boriello commented:
"From Retegui to Vlahović and Lautaro, they’re all good, but perhaps we don’t have those world-class talents like Batistuta, Weah, Del Piero, Trezeguet, Vieri, or Sheva. Dovbyk? He’s good, though maybe he lacks a bit of cunning."
On his mentors in football, he said:
"I have two. Ariedo Braida and Enrico Preziosi. Then Gasperini is the one who gave me the technical push."
